Jenny Simon has developed her own unique painting technique. She uses palette knives and her hands to apply and form multiple layers of oil paint onto canvas that give these artworks a rich quality, movement and texture.
Jenny Simon is a self-taught visual artist and former model from West-Berlin, Germany. She was raised in a blue-collar family and grew up in public housing. Jenny was provided with piano lessons at the age of six, and soon after she was composing her own music.
The artist was drawn to the visual arts, theater and dance from an early age on. As a child she came across post cards of German masters Karl Spitzweg and Albrecht Duerer. She was fascinated by their abilities to capture emotions and light and began studying their work extensively.
After leaving her abusive home at age 17 she found work with an airline and traveled the world. The ability to visit many countries gave her the opportunity to experience different cultures and their arts.
Influenced by painters like Gerhard Richter and Jackson Pollock she started painting oils in abstraction and became a full-time artist in 1995. In the year of 2000 the artist established her studio in Southern California where she currently resides. Her works are sought after worldwide by both galleries and collectors.
Jenny Simon is a member of the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) and past president of the Pasadena Society of Artists. Additionally, she supports charitable organizations with contributions of her paintings.

"Creating intuitively, Jenny Simon's work is sensual letting the art take her where it will. Simon's affinity for richness and texture -there is something very organic about her art, a sense of having been created by some natural process rather than the will on part of her as an artist. As an artist, she often is surprised by the unexpected; the completed work affects her upon completion, almost like the art has a life of its own! Her quiet speaking yet emotionally challenging work has evolved. It is intended to slow one down, encouraging a sense of intimacy, instilling an impression of connection, persuading self-awareness and reflection."

"Jenny Simon is dedicated to a pure approach to abstract painting. Her works are radiant colorful compositions; collaborations of feelings and visual thoughts expressed with vibrant colors in a refreshing contemporary style. The viewer bathes in the deepness of warm colors and is surrounded by the dreams and emotions the artist created. Her confident strokes and abundant vivid colors provide the artworks with an energy that imbue her creations with movement. In a world of imaginations her paintings are silently speaking the language of spirituality and change."
